# Roof Collapse at a Lahore Tutoring Center Kills at Least 14 Children

A roof gave way at a private tutoring center on the outskirts of Lahore on Tuesday, killing at least 14 children and injuring others, Pakistani police and rescue officials said, in one of the country's deadliest building collapses involving young students in recent years.

A morning of lessons ended in tragedy on the edge of Lahore, where the roof of a tutoring center collapsed onto a classroom full of children.

## What happened

The upper floor of a private tutoring center in the Kahna area, on the outskirts of Lahore in Pakistan's Punjab province, caved in on Tuesday morning, burying students beneath concrete and rubble, police and rescue officials said. Roughly 30 students were said to be present when the structure gave way. No charges had been detailed, and the cause was still under examination.
