# Where to Watch Fourth of July Fireworks Across Los Angeles

From the Hollywood Hills to the harbor, the Los Angeles area lights up this Independence Day with professional fireworks shows, drone spectaculars and free neighborhood celebrations. Here's where to go — and what to know before you head out.

Los Angeles offers no shortage of ways to mark the Fourth — many of them free, several of them spectacular. A roundup of the biggest shows, with the usual caveat: confirm times with the venue, because details shift.

## Hollywood Bowl: three nights of fireworks

The [Hollywood Bowl's Fireworks Spectacular](https://www.hollywoodbowl.com/events/performances/4249/2026-07-02/july-fourth-fireworks-spectacular-with-the-beach-boys) returns July 2, 3 and 4, with the Beach Boys joining the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and a pyrotechnic finale over the band shell; shows start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are required and the nights tend to sell out, so book ahead and plan for rideshare or pre-paid parking — Highland Avenue after the show is notoriously slow.

## Grand Park: free, downtown, transit-friendly

[Gloria Molina Grand Park](https://grandparkla.org/4th-of-july/) bills its celebration as the largest free Fourth of July event on the West Coast, running the afternoon into the evening in the heart of downtown with live music, food trucks and a closing drone show. It's free, all ages and steps from the Civic Center/Grand Park Metro station — skip the car entirely.

## At the stadiums and on the water

The Dodgers host the San Diego Padres on July 4 with a postgame fireworks show (a ticketed game; the Dodger Stadium Express from Union Station beats the parking-lot crush). On the coast, the [Marina del Rey show](https://www.timeout.com/los-angeles/things-to-do/july-4th-fireworks-in-marina-del-rey) launches over the main channel around 9 p.m., with free viewing from Burton Chace Park and Fisherman's Village. Long Beach goes bigger still, with simultaneous launches over the waterfront around 9 p.m. visible along the downtown shoreline.

## Valley and beyond

In the San Fernando Valley, Warner Center Park in Woodland Hills hosts a free concert and a roughly 20-minute fireworks display around 9 p.m. (paid parking; arrive early). Just over the county line, Huntington Beach throws one of the region's largest Independence Day festivals, with a parade, a Surf City 5K and fireworks over the ocean at 9 p.m. Pasadena's Rose Bowl, long home to the giant AmericaFest fireworks show, is shifting its programming this year amid regional fire and air-quality concerns — confirm current plans with the venue, [as Pasadena Now reported](https://ktla.com/news/local-news/where-to-watch-fireworks-across-southern-california-this-independence-day/).

## Practical tips

Arrive early — 60 to 90 minutes for the marquee venues. Take Metro where you can; post-show gridlock at Grand Park, Dodger Stadium and the Coliseum is severe. Pack layers, since coastal spots cool off after sunset. And note a 2026 trend: several venues are running drone shows instead of fireworks, a shift driven by fire-safety and air-quality concerns.

## One safety note

The Los Angeles Fire Department is emphatic that all consumer fireworks — including "safe and sane" varieties — are illegal anywhere in the City of Los Angeles, and urges residents to enjoy the professional shows instead. As the Herald has reported, penalties are steep and the region's brush is dangerously dry. Leave the pyrotechnics to the pros.
