The month's marquee event, per Variety, is the second season of X-Men '97, the acclaimed revival of the 1990s animated classic. It kicks off July 1 with a multi-episode premiere, then continues with weekly installments through the month — promising the same kinetic animation and pulpy, surprisingly emotional storytelling that made its first season a favorite.

Films, family and a prestige doc

Mid-month brings Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, the latest entry in Disney's teen musical franchise, blending fairy-tale villain lineages with a Wonderland twist.
