Newsom's pick for an environmental board now lobbies for its industries

Gavin Newsom appointed his former deputy chief of staff, Rhys Williams, to California's Board of Environmental Safety in January.
In May, Williams began lobbying for a firm whose clients include a hazardous-waste company and an aerospace manufacturer with business before environmental regulators.
Green groups want him gone; Newsom's office says he recuses himself.
