A man who called 911 in a mental health crisis is shot dead by Irvine police

The 20-year-old told dispatchers he was suicidal and armed with a knife.
Irvine police say a mental health team and crisis negotiators spent more than an hour trying to talk him down before he charged officers and was shot.
He died at a hospital.
