LAUSD posts a third year of test gains, and braces for a hard budget

The district says 2026 scores rose for a third straight year: 48.3 percent met the English standard, 39.7 percent math, 32.1 percent science.
New superintendent Andrés Chait credited the staff.
He also named what is coming: falling enrollment, immigration-enforcement fears, and proposed cuts for next year.
