Anthony Davis has closed the book on his life as an Angeleno homeowner. The former Lakers big man has sold his mansion in the gated Bel Air Crest community for about $32 million, ESPN reported.
The sale
Davis bought the estate in 2021 for roughly $31 million, not long after he won a championship with the Lakers, and put it on the market last August with an asking price of about $39.9 million, The Real Deal reported. The final price came in some $8 million below that ask, meaning that after five years of ownership he essentially broke even on the property.
What the buyer got
The house is not modest. It runs about 17,254 square feet, with eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, Robb Report reported. Among the amenities: a home theater, a wine cellar, a gym with a massage room, an indoor-outdoor pool, a sports court and a batting cage, plus a spa area with a sauna and cold plunge, the kind of package built for a professional athlete.
Why he's selling
The timing traces back to Davis's exit from Los Angeles. He was traded by the Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks in February 2025, in the blockbuster deal that brought Luka Doncic to L.A., and this past February he was moved again, to the Washington Wizards, ESPN reported. With his career now on the East Coast, hanging on to a sprawling Bel Air compound made less sense, and the sale draws a line under his six years in a Lakers uniform, a stretch that included the 2020 title.
