A Reedley Farmer Couldn't Sell His Nectarines. So He Gave Tons of Them Away.

  • Barred by a lawsuit from selling the white nectarines ripening in his Fresno County orchard, third-generation farmer Cesar Mora made a choice: rather than let the fruit rot, he opened his gates and let the public pick it for free.
  • More than 125,000 pounds have gone out the gate — and thousands of people have come to help him haul it away.
