Marvel Comics is leaving New York for Los Angeles after nearly 90 years

  • Marvel Comics, the New York institution that gave the world Spider-Man, the Avengers and the X-Men, is pulling up stakes and moving its publishing operation to Burbank, according to a report.
  • The relocation would end nearly nine decades in the city and pull the last of America's big comics publishers west, closer to the Hollywood machine its characters now feed.
