Long Beach homelessness rises again, and chronic cases jump sharply

  • The city's January count found 3,729 people without stable housing, up 3.7 percent from a year earlier and a second straight annual increase.
  • The harder number is chronic homelessness, which rose to 58 percent of the total from under 47.
